Shawn Tan

Intro

I graduated with a Bachelor's of Arts with a major in Economics from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

From a young age, I've always been intrigued by the concept of financial markets and how interconnected they are; much akin to synapses in our brains. With that curiousity and thirst for knowledge, I've built a repertoire of experience in the field of wealth management and how to optimally build a portfolio of assets (albeit for HNW clients). In the process, I've not only gained precious insights as to how people make their respective pots of gold, but more importantly to grow and retain them.

Needless to say, I'm an individual who loves to connect with like-minded people to bounce ideas with. A people person at heart, I enjoy and am good at the process of nurturing relationships with clients and friends alike.

In my free time, I relish in honing my skills on the poker table and experimenting with game theory strategies. In addition, I love to work on side projects/endeavors which is further illustrated here. Away from the screens, I love being in nature.

Personal Projects

Tinkering with projects on the side has been my favorite pastime.

Since 2020, I fell down the rabbit hole into the world of cryptocurrencies and digital assets. As the world evolves into one which transcends geographical borders, the total addressable market for users of digital currencies is huge and ever growing. As the saying goes "Code is Law", I too, am a staunch proponent of the need to rely less on central authorities and humans which will succumb easily to emotions and short-term thinking. With that, there is a large gap in the economy we live in today which can be filled by digital assets.

• Traded cryptocurrencies and digital assets via strategies such as on-chain analysis and yield farming via DeFi protocols.
• Participated in DAO governance and am an active participant in various DeFi communities to ensure user retention and how to best capture market share in their respective area of expertise
• Learnt and coded a trading algorithm using ProRealTime software to trade the Euro Dollar market
